RABINA KHAN: YOUR LOCAL, ACCESSIBLE AND HARDWORKING CHOICE FOR BETHNAL GREEN AND STEPNEY
I'm RABINA KHAN, a former councillor of 12 years and Cabinet Member for Housing in Tower Hamlets. I'm running to be your Liberal Democrats MP for Bethnal Green & Stepney.
I've earned a reputation for hard work and dedication. I ran the busiest councillor surgery and as an MP I would do the same. I want to advocate for the concerns and needs of local people.
With over 34 years in Tower Hamlets, I know our community inside out. As a former Councillor and Special Advisor in the House of Lords and freelance journalist for the Financial Times and Guardian, I'm deeply rooted in our area.
As your MP I'll be accessible to our community, tackling issues like rising living costs and high energy bills, advocating for people's housing issues and making climate change a more inclusive agenda.
Being a Constituency MP is not just my duty – it’s my unwavering priority.
Warmest wishes,
Rabina
Liberal Democrats have voted twice for an immediate ceasefire, to get aid in and hostages out, an end to occuptation and for a two-state solution.
Our party stands for peace - all our MP's supported an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, proposed a bilateral ceasefire motion and for the immediate release of all hostages. We've spoken out against stripping Shamima Begum of her citizenship.
Layla Moran, a British Palestinian MP, a Liberal Democrat, rightly argued to scrap the divisive Anti-Boycott Bill.
We're clear on key issues: ending the outdated leasehold system, investing in green technologies and skills training, and tackling air and water pollution.
We aim to boost the economy, cut pollution, and improve everyone's quality of life.
We have an ambitious housing plan to rebuild the much needed homes Britain needs, hold rogue landlords to account and address a housing crisis that prices out a generation of young people.
